Ans. An mla is person who is elected by the voters of their constituency and he represents his constituency in state assembly.
Q2. How did some mla’s become ministers? Explain.
Ans.
- The party which is elected in majority for the legislative assembly forms the government.
- The ruling party elects its leader who is called chief minister.
- The chief minister in consultation with governor constitutes a cabinet which includes members of his party and allotted them with portfolio.
- now the mla’s with portfolio turns into ministers.
Q3. Why should decisions taken by the chief minister and other ministers to be debated in the legislative assembly?
Ans. These decisions must be debated in assembly because during debate it is discussed whether a particular decision is in the interest of the people or not, it is urgent or not, how much would it cost etc.
