Q1. Why do you think nationalist movement supported the idea that all adults have a right to vote?

Ans. The nationalist movement became successful because people from various backgrounds joined it. It was felt that all persons in independent India should participate in making decisions. It is therefore the constitution of independent India laid down the principle of universal adult franchise.
